I am an independent web developer based in Cape Town, South Africa. I maintain this site myself and built it for a very ordinary problem: sometimes the best image is not the sharpest one. It is the version that is small enough to send, rough enough to fit the moment, and ready before a slow connection gives up.

Why I Built This Image Processing Tool

My work often involves moving images between a phone, a draft, a chat, and a publishing tool. A polished original is not always the useful file. It can be too large for a form, too slow to send over mobile data, or simply too polished for a casual post or a joke.

That is why this tool starts with a direct choice: make the image lower quality, blurry, pixelated, repeatedly shared, or deep fried. I wanted the result to be visible and understandable instead of hiding the useful controls behind a complicated editor.

I keep the project small on purpose. The job is to get from an image in front of you to a downloadable version with the right amount of damage. It is not trying to replace Photoshop, and it is not trying to turn a five-second task into an account workflow.

I have tested this tool with thousands of images across different formats, compression levels, and use cases—from meme creation to practical file size reduction for messaging apps. The presets and controls reflect what actually works for real-world scenarios, not theoretical image science.

How Your Images Are Processed - Client-Side Privacy

  1. Selected locally. Your browser reads the image from your device.
  2. Changed locally. Canvas applies the chosen effect and creates the preview.
  3. Downloaded locally. The processed file is created in the browser for you to save.

In normal use, the image itself is not uploaded to a processing server. The site does use basic analytics and hosting/security services, which may receive technical visit information such as browser, device, pages, and timestamps.
